Royal Group unveils new major mixed-use development for Toul Kork

Phnom Penh May 7, 2019: The Royal Group of Companies today proudly unveiled its new major mixed-use development project in Toul Kork with its partner, Singapore-based property developer Hong Lai Huat Group Limited.

The 100,000 square metre development will provide both residential and commercial opportunities, improving home affordability, creating jobs and attracting further investment to the growing city centre.

The development to be named Royal Platinum will feature up to 851 apartment units and 50 shop house units.

The indoor shopping street is expected to attract multiple new International retail brands providing new shopping experiences and products range including restaurants, fashion, etc…

The construction is expected to take two and a half years to complete with residential and commercial sales commencing as soon as June this year.

The ground-breaking ceremony held today on the construction site was officiated by Royal Group Chairman Neak Okhna Kith Meng and Hong Lai Huat Group Chief Executive Officer Dato Dr Johnny Ong.

Royal Group Chief Financial Officer Mark Hanna said the development would be a significant addition to the growing centre of Toul Kork which is quickly advancing as one of the most affluent centres of Phnom Penh.

“We believe the development will provide an attractive lifestyle for families and contribute to the economic vibrancy of the area with offices for small and medium sized businesses,” Mr Hanna said.

“The development will also provide great shopping alternatives and entertainment facilities for all ages including indoor shopping street, restaurants, Executive Club.”

The development is the latest in a list of reputed projects by Royal Group including Northbridge Communities, North Park Condominium and Southbridge International School.


Royal Group signs MoU with MPTC for ICT Digital Transformation in the Kingdom

Phnom Penh May 6, 2019 –  Cambodia’s Royal Group of Companies has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication (MPTC) to encourage and support the Kingdom’s drive to Digitalisation and the adoption of 5G.

The official ceremony held today at the MPTC headquarters in Phnom Penh was officiated by Chairman of the Royal Group of Companies, Neak Okhna Kith Meng, MPTC Minister His Excellency Tram Iv Tek, and MPTC Secretary of State His Excellency Sok Puthyvuth.

The MoU agreement will see both parties step up collaborations and planning for wide-scale adoption of next generation technologies for use cases such as E-Govt applications, Artificial Intelligence, IoT technologies, as well as an ICT Innovation Centre and Cloud Data Centre.

The MoU also outlines security measures for these future technologies including Disaster Recovery, Digital Signatures and website and government email security.

Neak Okhna Kith Meng said a Committee would be formed with representatives from both the Royal Group and the MPTC to drive the Digitalisation agenda through a series of formal workshops.

“The Royal Group, through our ICT Division, will work with the MPTC to lead the adoption of 5G in Cambodia.

“We have numerous projects already underway and have ensured strong representation of the Kingdom at some very critical delegations including the China Belt and Road Initiative and the Digital Silk Road.

“We placed our first successful 5G call in September 2018 and are launching 5G services for the general public at the end of this year.

“We will ensure Cambodia stands strongly as a shining example in the region for technological evolution in line with the rapidly advancing commercial sector and increasing economic growth.”

Royal Group to Build Resort on Koh Rong

The Royal Sands Koh Rong

The Royal Group, in partnership with a Thailand-based Swiss investor, will build a 148-room five-star hotel on Preah Sihanouk’s Koh Rong island, with the group having completed a ground-breaking ceremony on Saturday.

Khin Remy, an assistant to Kith Meng, the chairman of Royal Group, said the new villa-style resort will be called Royal Sands Koh Rong Resort, and will cost $40 million during the first phase of construction.

Construction has started and will be completed by December 2016,” Remy said.

Luzi Matzig, chairman of Thailand-based tourism firm Asian Trails Group and a partner in the project, said that once the resort was completed, tour operators in Cambodia could use the hotel to attract more tourists to the island, especially after they visit popular tourist destinations, like Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh.
